My work is inspired by the themes of nostalgia and seaside holidays.

The colours, imagery and compositions of my paintings and drawings are used to inform my
embroidered illustrations and both fabric and drawn work are created using collaged found ephemera
such as stamps, beads, buttons, papers and fragments of material.

The techniques I use to create my samples include a combination of Irish and machine embroidery,
hand-stitch and manutex printing. I am also particularly interested in embellishment,
decoration and surface texture. I have produced a commissioned piece for Embroidery Magazine,
published May 2004 and hope to work as a freelance illustrator.
