Hazel Jones | Statement | Works

My work always begins with something small and insignificant; a piece of fluff, a lump of gravel , a tea leaf or some string that is to small for use.

Ideas are generated by my efforts to enrich these banal things by inventing metal objects that elevate their importance.

My work has been inspired by my collections of objects from boot fairs, such as string cutters and pot menders.
