Wood, Plastics and Foam Workshops

The wood, plastics and foam facility is situated on the ground floor of the Chatham building. An extensive range of resources are provided to enable students to produce work using these materials, including model making to full scale furniture design and conceptual projects.

Prepared sheet/timber, plastic, foam and consumable items can be purchased using the GPAS payment system.

Machine shop for wood and plastics, hand power tools, plastic and foam fabrication equipment (eg. hot wire cutters, plastic bender) and vacuum forming facilites are all available in this workshop area.

Stretcher-making, mitre cutting and bag-pressing are examples of processes carried out in the Fabrication Area. There is also a hand tools facility.

Storage area for sheet/timber.
