Ceramics Workshops
The ceramics workshops are situated on the ground floor of the Chatham building. Within the ceramics facility are the following areas: The plaster room has facilities for slip casting which includes equipment for mould-making, such as plaster lathes; in the throwing room, there are 12 throwing wheels available for use; there is a dedicated area for the safe preparation of glaze materials and a spray booth; the facility has 8 electric kilns plus a large electric kiln and a large gas kiln available for use.

Throwing ware, hand work, clay preparation.
CHA 31 Work Room
Re-cycling station and slab roller.
CHA 32/33 Ceramics Kiln Room
Electric and gas kilns.
CHA 34 Glaze Room
Glaze and slip spraying, application of glaze, firing pottery. Electric kilns.
CHA 35 Glaze Preparation Room
Preparation of glaze and storage.
Health & Safety
Inductions and training are required into all the equipment and processes prior to use.
