Health and Safety Communication

Staff

• New staff are issued with a staff handbook.
• The minutes of the Site Heath and Safety Panel are available online.
• Staff have access to the University Health and Safety website and the Faculty Health and Safety web pages.
• Email messages are sent to staff from safety services on matters of importance.
• Line managers will keep staff members informed on matters of health and safety.
• Local groups exist to promote health and safety and good working practice in specialist areas, such as the DSE Users, Faculty Woodworkers and First Aid groups.

Students

• All new students are issued with the student handbook.
• Students are inducted into workshop areas by trained staff.
• Students have access to the Faculty Health and Safety web pages and the University Health and Safety information.
• MMU Student Union website offers advice to students on safety.
• Email contact can be made to students on safety matters.
