Some of my works make use of obsolete AV technology. I would be keen to hear from anyone who could help me acquire the following or similar equipment: 42" exponential horn PA speakers (known as Vitavox EH190, but also made by Celestion or Grampian and other manufacturers) or large old reflex horn speakers and driver units (any make, both low impedance and 100V line versions); 1950s and '60s slide projectors, particularly 6x6 or medium format, such as Leitz Prado 66, Aldis, Gnome Aspheric Major, Noris Trumpf etc. [More Details...]

Radical Obsolescence
A research initiative founded in 2009 by Pavel Büchler with Ian Rawlinson and David Osbaldeston, with the participation of graduates from the MA Fine Art programme and other external parties. The overall agenda of Radical Obsolescence is a creative and critical exploration of the ‘practically useless’, guided by the belief that artists are good at squeezing the last drop of meaning from technologies, materials and processes outdated by the dynamics of technological innovation, the priorities of commerce and critical fashion.
