"Eden's recent work pursues the Arts and Crafts Movement's ethos of how craft is an equal to art and designby exploring the large grey areas between the disciplines. Here the ceramic craft element of Eden's previous practice as a potter is extended through the use of new tools. But the precise way in which Eden realizes this necessitates nothing less than a reversal of one of the keynotes of the movement: its technophobia.
Indeed, Eden's work is persuasive evidence of how one of the most convincing ways to extend craft today in order to integrate it more closely with art and design is precisely by using cutting edge technology to trigger a process of conceptual and formal investigation. By aiding experimentation in this way, technology is utilized as a means to an end rather than simply being an end in itself"
