Lynn Setterington has been a Senior Lecturer at MMU since 1992. She teaches on the TIP programme and her experience in commissioned work, public engagement and work based learning feeds into many areas.
Her work is held in various private and public collections including the V&A, Whitworth Art Gallery, Embroiderers Guild and Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead and she is on the Crafts Council selected makers index. She has led and initiated many projects and collaborative endeavours and has worked with a wide range of groups.
Lynn has been awarded a number of grants and bursaries including funding from UK Trade and Investment for a research in New York, the Crafts Council of the UK and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
In 2008 she became an Associate Fellow of the International Quilt Study Center in the US and in 2009 she was awarded a Public Engagement Fellowship from MMU and the Beacons for Public Engagement. She is currently working on a long term collaborative project exploring identity, with a focus on the use of signatures.
