Jo Harrison is Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Fashion and is also a practicing designer.
Jo graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1993 with a first class degree in Fashion Design with Technology. Since then Jo has worked for various international companies including River Island, Ted Baker, Levis Dockers and Turnover BV. She has experience in both men’s and womenswear design across a wide variety of international markets.
In 2002 Jo joined the jeans brand Blueblood in Amsterdam where she helped Jason Denham (owner of Blueblood and fellow graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University) set up a new label Avelon. Unique in the market Avelon was a unisex collection featuring high end tailoring combined with premium denim. The collection went on to be sold worldwide in high profile stores and has since been integrated into the blueblood line as a sub brand. Blueblood continues to grow internationally with new shops recently opened in Japan.
Jo continues to design for Blueblood on a consultancy basis commuting between Manchester and Amsterdam.
