Tmeses
Quicktime Movie (1MB)Tmeses was a show that I created for Tmesis, a Manchester bar/gallery. A Tmesis is when a word has another word "spliced" in, as in "abso-bloody-lutely". The show consisted of nine new Tmeses, printed onto the wall using fax paper. The words were concerned with the nature of the debate around "culture" and its relationship to the city - an artist's, near-mute, reaction to the appropriation of art into the regeneration agenda. Tmesis is near to the Town Hall in Manchester and not far from my Manchester's Tilted Windmills.
