David Salter is a theatre director and acting teacher.

He was associate director to Peter Stein on Blackbird (EIF / Albery) and on Female Of The Species (Vaudeville) as well as on a number of productions at the Almeida including The Shape Of Things, Lulu, Coriolanus and Richard II.

Direction includes: A Russian Play (Lion and Unicorn Theatre - nominated for Best Set and Best New Play - Off West End Awards) Broadway in the Shadows (Grand Theatre, Luxembourg / Arcola); Life of Galileo (BAC / Studio Theatre, Washington DC - winner Helen Hayes Award for Best Lead Actor); As You Like It, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Henry V, The Tempest and Comedy of Errors (Cambridge Shakespeare Festival); Playing Sinatra (New End); Escaping the Darkness (Young Vic Schools); Hansel and Gretel (Old Bull); Measure for Measure (Cockpit) and Ghetto (Pleasance - winner of the Guardian International Student Drama Award).
