A significant aspect of my approach to art production lies between fact and fiction. The placing of collage, drawing, re-drawing, photography, design, and the efficacy of printed matter provide methods to take a sideways glance into the reconstruction and disturbance of established visual identities. The work draws upon the familiarity or recognition of visual languages/codes which may appear, or conversely, may not appear to pre-exist.

This is furthered by an interest in duplication, authorship, and the possibility to test meaning between the written word and its action on the viewer or reader. I am also interested in disrupting aspects of the accompanying tautology of the artistic context whilst asking to what extent the artwork is capable of questioning the codes and conventions that frame our understanding of the present. This concern provides the shadow of context to speculate upon a present that is both written and unwritten at the same time.

I have undertaken residencies at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, post-academic research institute, Amsterdam, Acme Firestation programme, London, and more recently Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge.
