David Grimshaw  

David Grimshaw has practised as a design consultant for the furniture manufacturing industry since 1990. With a long track record of successful projects he began passing on this knowledge to students at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1997, and has since become Programme Leader for BA (Hons)Three Dimensional Design.

He continues to work as a furniture design consultant as part of his research, along with new interests such as working alongside "The Design Initiative", to promote the wealth of design talent developed and established in the Northwest to local, national and international markets.

As a long established member of the Chartered Society of Designers, he now works as an assessor for new members, and as part of the Northwest Design Forum, he plays an active role in the development of design in the region as as a tool for economic regeneration.

David is currently external examiner at Loughborough University for : BA(Hons) Furniture, BA(Hons) Silversmithing & Jewellery, BA(Hons) Ceramics.
