Contractors Compound & Traffic Management

The contractor for the Art & Design project has commenced with the erection of the hoardings to form the contractors compound/working areas as per agreements which are in place with Manchester City Council Highways Department. This arrangement will be in place until the end of 2012.

This has resulted in temporary arrangements for traffic flow around the site being necassary to facilitate the proposals. Details of these arrangements can be downloaded below.

• The Salutation car park will remain in operation throughout the construction works, however, access and egress will be limited from Boundary Street West only. No vehicular access to the Salutation car park car park will be available from Rosamond Street West.
• Boundary Street West will be managed as one way traffic from Oxford Road. Please note that Boundary Street West will remain two way traffic from Higher Cambridge Street through to the intersection with Higher Chatham Street.
• Rosamond Street West will also become one way from Higher Cambridge Street.
• These works are necessary to enable the Art & Design project to be completed and the University appologies for any inconvienience caused during this period.
