Comments from BA (Hons) Film and Media Studies graduates.
"Manchester is one of the most diverse, interesting and fun cities in the world. Not too long ago it was seen as the "real" capital of England, and rightly so. The bars, clubs, museums and the world famous music scene ensure that life there is the envy of those all across the UK. It is very accessible for students. Among the specific student areas such as Fallowfield, almost anywhere gives student discounts (most essentially the cinemas!) and holds student nights.
I studied Film and Media Studies with Practice and never looked back. Whether it is film, journalism, advertising, photography, filmmaking or scriptwriting, like-minded tutors nurture your passion. I went into the course with a specific enthusiasm for film and photography, and have come out of the course with a much highly educated and practised passion.
The University is made up of such a diverse range of great people that you make life-long friends with backgrounds similar and different to your own. Without my time at Manchester Metropolitan I would not have been able to connect with such a vast amount of people, many of which play an important role in my life now."
Eddie, graduated 2007
"I would say the best part of my film and media experience at MMU personally were the seminars, they gave me a chance to discuss and analyse films in a close knit group, also bringing students and our lecturers closer together"
"The teachers were always approachable and are always there to help, providing course support material as standard, they also provided very good feedback which would help towards your next piece of work"
Sarah, graduated 2007
