Out of Schools Show 2012

29 June – 9 July 2012

The 'Out of Schools' Show is an exhibition of pupil's work from schools across the region that showcases the exceptional achievements in art and design from early years to college students.

The theme is 'STORIES' to link with the Manchester Children's Book Festival, launched by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.

As always the event provides an opportunity for schools to:

  • celebrate the achievements of their pupils
  • share best practice in the subject
  • demonstrate the value of the subject and its impact across the curriculum
  • provide their students with an enriching experience beyond the classroom

Schools visits to the show

If you would like to bring your pupils to see the Out of Schools Show, please email c.knox-bentham@mmu.ac.uk as we'd like to organise some activities for your visit, such as Being Jackson Pollock, badge making, making a video diary of your visit, follow the treasure hunt, creating flowers for Miss Havisham's Dress, and making your mark on the Never Ending Drawing!

Photography

During the Out of Schools exhibition we will be offering schools who visit the show the opportunity to record a video diary about your visit. We will also have a photographer present recording the exhibition and workshops. Please could schools confirm that all children have permissions to be photographed when you visit and bring a signed agreement.

The images taken on the day will be used for publicity for next year's show, as well as for case studies for the Centre for Engagement through Art and Design and also on our website.

We will identify any children without permission to be photographed/filmed to our photographer on the day and they will be edited out of any photos/film.
