Art School Conversations is a series of talks and debates hosted by Manchester School of Art. The talks will bring leading world class professionals to MMU to discuss a range of topics of interest to our students, industry professionals and the wider public.
Jeff Banks CBE

The Department of Design invites you to a professional lecture by internationally renowned fashion designer and entrepreneur Jeff Banks.
Jeff Banks is one of Britain's foremost fashion designers, famous for creating Warehouse, presenting The Clothes Show and chairing Graduate Fashion Week.
Jeff will talk about how he went from studying Textiles / Fashion at university, to running an international fashion business. As well as many Designer of the Year awards, in 2007 he gained the Drapers Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2009 was awarded the CBE for services to fashion and charitable work.
He currently has a range in Debenhams and Matalan, then stand alone menswear shops in UK. He also has ranges in Japan and Australia and has recently opened up 4 Jeff Banks shops in Beijing. Jeff has a corporate clothing business, which designs/supplies the uniforms for Barclays Bank, Virgin Atlantic and various other large corporations. He also has a homewear line which is sold throughout the UK.
This talk will be of interest and beneficial to all students with an interest in pursuing a career in the fashion or textiles industry, particularly those wanting to set up their own fashion business.
