Location and Buildings

The Faculty's programmes are largely based in buildings adjacent to the re-landscaped Grosvenor Park on the main All Saints Campus, a major project undertaken with the help and advice of staff from our Landscape subject area.

Just 10 minutes from the Cornerhouse and the centre of Manchester, with its vibrant restaurants, bars and galleries, the Faculty is at the heart of the Oxford Road student corridor, which with 80,000 students in two universities is one of the largest student centres in the country.

The Faculty's buildings range from the magnificent Grosvenor Building , which was the original Manchester School of Art constructed in 1880, to modern accommodation. The Righton Building, a listed building which was originally a draper’s store was built in 1905, the Chatham Building in the 1960s and the Cavendish Building in 1978. The Acting course, which has its own Capitol Theatre, is based in the Mabel Tylecote Building a few steps away.
