Manchester School of Art

175 Anniversary

1838 2013

To celebrate our 175th anniversary, Manchester School of Art is delighted to announce 175 publically accessible events and exhibitions taking place in the UK and overseas throughout 2013.

From installations to live performances our staff, students and alumni will be showcasing impressive and innovative work under the 175 anniversary banner.

Recognised as a pioneering arts institution, Manchester School of Art is one of the oldest and largest providers of art and design courses in the UK. The 175 anniversary events will not only celebrate our rich heritage but will also look to the future as the year will see the opening of the 34m School of Art building.

Many of our most high profile 175 events such as the annual Degree Show, Fashion Shows, the MA Show and Artschool Conversations will be located in this impressive new venue and the building's official launch will also feature in this exciting calendar of 175 events.

Exhibitions by students and staff at the Holden Gallery will form part of the 175 celebrations as will performances by our final year BA (Hons) Acting students at the Capitol Theatre.

Events within the 175 programme will be recognisable by the 175 branding designed exclusively for Manchester School of Art by internationally renowned designer, Ian Anderson from The Designers Republic.
